Public Outreach
Public outreach informs the public about who we are, what we do, and how to get in touch with us. To coordinate Al-Anon speakers and literature for your organization or community event please contact public outreach (fwaispo@gmail.com) to make your request. Our goal is to attract to our program those whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking.

In the Fort Worth area, there are volunteer outreach opportunities for Al-Anon members throughout the year, including back-to-school fairs, health & wellness fairs, and meetings chaired by Al-Anon volunteers at treatment centers.
FWAIS Rotation of Service Opportunities:
To maintain rotation of service, FWAIS presents a slate of those standing for open positions at the October meeting, with elections held in November. These positions are in need of trusted servants as of October 2025:
- FWAIS Alt Liaison
- FWAIS Alateen Coordinator
- FWAIS Public Outreach Coordinator
- other trusted servant positions open for rotation in Oct. 2026. Please consider service by stepping into a leadership role within your group and at the FWAIS level.
The FWAIS Guidelines 2025 detail duties/scope of service for FWAIS positions. The Guidelines were updated in December 2025, to clarify roles and update duties. District positions are similar to FWAIS positions, but at the District level. All are welcome to stand for a position. Please talk with your service sponsor, your Group Rep and/or District Rep and/or the FWAIS Liaison to learn more. We would love to welcome you to FWAIS service.
Telephone Volunteers
Telephone volunteers are the first link when a person reaches out for information on Al Anon. If you are an active member who can share your experience, strength and hope and assist in finding a meeting, we welcome your help! March 2025 update: Our phone volunteer procedures are being updated. Interested in being a telephone volunteer? Please contact Shannon at fwtelephonecoordinator@gmail.com and she can send information once new guidelines are in place.
